“I teach guitar during the week and play in any of three bands most weekends, so the most notable effect of the virus and restrictions is that half my income disappeared literally overnight as of March. Luckily I’ve been able to resume the majority of my teaching with online lessons during both lockdowns and back face to face during the “tier system” period. In more social terms it has been challenging with not having the excitement of gigging to look forward to and I miss just the hanging out and chatting rubbish with band members!
I think I’ve coped fairly well in terms of my mental and physical health and I’m very thankful that my teaching has kept me busy. Having the time to do projects like update my home recording setup, write more music for my own enjoyment and put together an exercise space in my spare room has been a positive about this year so far.”
