BREIGHTMET WORKSHOPS STARTING FRIDAY 17 mARCH
I’m excited to be starting my first group as part of my ‘Whose menopause?’ project on Friday 17 March at the Elderdale Centre in Breightmet.
I’ll be working with the Breightmet Butterflies Women’s group on this new socially engaged programme to explore and document our experiences and perceptions of menopause. Watch this space!
If you’re interested in joining us at Breightmet, please get in touch on 07816 296218 or marge-bradshaw@outlook.com
More about the project
I’ve been awarded £26,651 through Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants to deliver ‘Whose menopause? Exploring menopause experiences through an inclusive participatory photography programme.’
Working in partnership with Bolton at Home, this inclusive socially engaged project launches in January 2023 and will use photography to explore, document and share people’s experiences of menopause in Bolton.
A 6-month project, including 10 weeks of socially engaged workshops with 3 different groups, the aim is to collectively change the narrative and reduce stigma around menopause.
This project challenges the normal narrative and brings a range of LGBTQI+, health, and place-based partners together to test and inform a new model of working. Alongside cisgender women, it will include trans men, transmasculine, and non-binary people who are typically excluded from menopause conversations.
My new project is supported using public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
National Lottery Project Grants is the Arts Council’s open access programme for arts, museums and libraries projects. The fund supports thousands of individual artists, community, and cultural organisations thanks to National Lottery investment. National Lottery players raise over £30 million for good causes each week, funding arts, heritage, sports, voluntary and charity projects around the UK. Over £43 billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery began in 1994.
