“The pandemic has taken it's toll on me both professionally and personally. It's cost me my work, my marriage and I've also lost three family members during this period as well. Music and performing are my outlet - my release - and under normal circumstances I could have thrown myself into both in order to better cope with the personal losses I've had to deal with. Instead I've been forced to stay at home, alone, trapped with my own thoughts for the most part.
I live my life by the maxim that bringing joy and happiness to others is one of the most noble and righteous things an individual can do. The relationship is symbiotic however and I gain just as much from it as those who might hire me or the band. I've never taken my job or talent for granted and I know that those in the industry are all hard working, devoted individuals who have spent a lifetime honing their respective crafts only to be told to retrain or get a 'proper job'.
The irony of the situation is that it will be the creatives, artists and musicians who will be called upon first when, eventually, restrictions do lift and normal life resumes.
As we've seen throughout history, from the Renaissance all the way through to the 'swinging' sixties, any period of severe restriction or limitation upon individual freedoms is inevitably followed by a surge in desire to celebrate those same freedoms when they are obtained once more. I can’t wait to be part of it.”
