NOW BOOKING: CYANOTYPE AND LUMEN PRINT WORKSHOP AT SELF, WESTHOUGHTON

Wednesday 21 August 6pm - 8pm

In this relaxed evening workshop, you’ll be introduced to the beautiful alternative photographic process of cyanotype and lumen printing. Come along and create something for yourself, or to give as a gift.

What are cyanotypes and lumen prints?

Cyanotype photography is a cameraless technique that involves laying an object on paper coated with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light and washing with water to create white and blue prints. Lumen printing is another easy way to make an image with the sun. It involves setting objects onto a piece of silver gelatin photographic paper and exposing them to the sun.

What does the workshop include?

  • Introduction to why cameraless methods are so relaxing, eco-friendly and sustainable.

  • Professional tutoring to create your own cyanotype and lumen prints using nature materials.

  • A take-away guide to continue producing cameraless prints yourself at home.

All materials are provided, just bring yourself.

How much does it cost?

We have 10 places at £35 including all materials. The workshop is capped at a total of 10 participants to provide a high quality experience. Places are limited, first come first served.

Please note that the workshop price does not include drinks/food/snacks but you’re welcome to buy something whilst we make and create.

Where is it?

Self, Market Street, Westhoughton.
